Pharmacogenomics 101: An Overview of Key Concepts for Pharmacists


Our presentation will start off with a case study to introduce the opportunity PGx can present, then we’ll get into a discussion of some background material, then information on the basics of pharmacogenomics; the ‘opportunity’; legislation; stakeholders; advantages and concerns; resources; a couple examples of medications where PGx can be applied; target markets; barriers and challenges; testing; and revisiting the case study to illustrate how to apply some of the materials discussed.
